The least progressive artist of the year is back with his third album in the span of one year. He is nothing if not productive though, but when they all sound the same; is it really worth it?
November 8, 1960; John F. Kennedy is elected the 35th president of the United States of America. Kennedy is one of the most famous presidents the US has ever had, though I don’t know much about his politics.
October sees the debut album of Joan Baez, and the start of a long and prosperous career. She was first noticed singing duets with Bob Gibson at The Newport Folk Festival in 1959, and it was this performance that helped her get a record contract at Vanguard Records.
September 1960 saw the birth of the very first prime time animated show on television; The Flintstones. Finally a month with more than one or two releases. Elvis is back from the army and is ready to show the world that he’s still got it. But does he?
Whatever Doris Day tried to accomplish this month is beyond me, but that her musical career was orchestrated by men is pretty obvious.
John Coltrane doesn’t need an introduction. His name is well known to all who listens to music. But then again, he is a jazz musician.
