In December 1962, Norway got its first National Park, namely Rondane Nasjonalpark. Since then we’ve gotten a lot more, and thank god for that. I’m a big fan of National Parks, as they preserve areas that are both beautiful and important, so I say keep ‘em coming.

There are a lot of fantastic artists releasing new music this month, but there’s no point in pretending that the debut single from The Beatles isn’t the one that bears the burden of expectations. Not necessarily back then, but to me anyway.
On the 21st of April man travelled into space for the first time. The Russian Jurij Gagarin is the first human in space and the first human to orbit the earth.
I’ve finally stumbled over the first Norwegian release since I started this project. I mean, there have been other releases, but they are not available on the streaming platforms that I use. And like I’ve mentioned before; I’m not rich enough to buy all the records I can’t find on the internet. But The Monn Keys will be the first Norwegian band to get some attention here on This Band Could Be Your Life.
Even though we can track The Beatles all the way back to 1957, I’ve decided to not write about them until now. But they weren’t even called The Beatles back then, so I’ve come to the conclusion that I did the right thing here. In 1957 the it was John Lennon’s band and they were called the Quarry Men. And to be perfectly honest; it didn’t really become interesting until Paul McCartney joined in.
With releases from big names such as Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, and Sammy Davis Jr. one would think that it would be easy to have a good time while checking out their albums. Well, the joke’s on me!
