The Beatles travelled to Sweden this month, which was their first trip abroad after breaking through. What’s interesting about that is that they only played in Sweden, not in any other country. And they played many concerts there as well.

The first episode of the Beatles’ very own radio show, «Pop Go The Beatles», airs this month, and the Beatles get even more exposure. At least in the UK.
The 4th annual Grammy Awards was held in May 1962 (might have been in April) to celebrate the best music of the year 1961.
